From 16 December 2024, there are more opportunities to experience the refined wilderness of Flockhill - with the opening of seven new villas and Sugarloaf restaurant.
Seven new villas
Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of your surroundings with fluid internal and external spaces. Each villa suite encompasses a king bed or twin beds, a welcoming fire, and comfortable seating. While floor-to-ceiling windows and a private deck invite you to take in panoramic views of Purple Hill’s summit.
With a sumptuous lounge adjoining each suite, you may choose from three layouts to book for your accommodation. The Junior Suite (one bedroom), a Deluxe Suite (one bedroom and the lounge), or a Villa (two bedrooms and the lounge). The lounge features a social and dining area, an ambient fireplace, and glass doors that open onto an additional private deck with outdoor seating and a second fireplace.
A calming palette and relaxed luxury inspire you to surrender to the wilderness.
Sugarloaf restaurant
Sugarloaf is the heart of Flockhill, a guest’s first impression of the lodge. Guests are greeted in reception by a welcoming fire and a humbling view of Purple Hill towering above. Return to dine and discover a lively environment, with first name service and Sugarloaf personalised offerings. Providing a world-class dining experience on a remote New Zealand Station.
The root of Sugarloaf’s food starts on the property. With produce mainly grown in the Flockhill Garden and foraged from the land, the menu remains local year round.
Cooked over fire, the food is vibrant and fresh, rich in flavour, utilising native ingredients and nostalgic cooking techniques.
