Over the rainbow

Welcome to “Somewhere”, a luxury villa in the Bay of Islands where every moment is a destination.

This is the Bay of Islands in all its breathtaking beauty. A magnificent waterfront retreat in glorious grounds on a private island connected to the mainland by a causeway and bridge, with not one – but three – sheltered beaches.

Take a deep breath and notice how life slows down. Wake after a dreamy night’s sleep in one of six en-suite bedrooms (there’s room for 14 guests) to the realisation that the only decisions you must make today are about blissful relaxation or which activity to choose.

There’s an on-site chef to prepare gourmet meals from the best local ingredients, a host to ensure your stay is effortless and an activities manager standing ready to arrange family-friendly fun or adventure activities, including wakeboarding, water skiing and kayaking.

The interiors of “Somewhere” are Hamptons-chic, full of character and charm with the most modern amenities. Everything is provided for.  On cooler evenings, tuck yourself away in the cosy private cinema with one of the region’s spicy syrahs and a good movie; in summer, fling open the French doors and let the sunshine flood into the pretty dining area with its swoon-worthy views or take an evening aperitif on one of the villa’s many outdoor entertaining areas.

The environment is warm and welcoming, stylishly decorated, sumptuously appointed and completely private.

The surrounding amenities are exceptional — three beaches, each a serene retreat for relaxation or exploration, a swimming pool, a private jetty, and even a space for helicopter landings to ensure ease of access from Auckland, a short flight away.

Only 20 or so minutes' drive from historic Kerikeri, you are perfectly positioned to explore the charm and cultural richness of Aotearoa’s Far North, one of the country’s most popular fishing (the region is renowned internationally for its big-game fishing), sailing and tourism destinations.

Should you ever want to leave “Somewhere”, there are 800 kilometres of shoreline to explore and about 150 islands. Watch out for a migratory whale or two or a pod of dolphins; the region is one of the best places in New Zealand to spot them. And, as one of the earliest places of settlement in New Zealand, the Bay of Islands is full of sites of cultural and archaeological significance to explore.

Whether you’re hosting a multi-generational family vacation or a gathering of friends and family to celebrate a special occasion, “Somewhere” promises an unforgettable escape where luxury, privacy, comfort, and sustainability converge. How perfect would it be to celebrate in this most secluded of settings, with all your needs catered for and the picturesque playground that is the Bay of Islands right on the doorstep?

Experience the ultimate in waterfront living and create lasting memories where dreams come true … “Somewhere” in the Bay of Islands.
