A celebration of family at Drift Bay

Drift Bay Private Villa, one of Luxury Villas of NZ’s spectacular Queenstown properties, was chosen as the “home” and venue for a very special week long celebration of family and love earlier this year.

Maia Cotton and Max Feldstein chose Queenstown’s Drift Bay private villa, overlooking the water and mountains for their wedding, on January 2, 2025.

Model bride Maia Cotton and groom, Max Feldstein chose Drift Bay Private Villa, a 7-suite lakefront residence in Queenstown with mesmerising mountain views for their beautiful wedding.

The union which brought two cultures together is now featured in Vogue Weddings - and their immense sense of togetherness and joy shine through each image captured.

The owners of the property built Drift Bay villa with a vision that it would be a place their own family would gather together, share quality time and celebrate.

They comment, “the joy and ‘sense of family’ that emanated from this group during their stay with us was amazing. We are honoured they so beautifully embraced our Drift Bay vision.”

“We also can’t speak more highly of the artistry and creativity of wedding planners Doug and Laice of Place of LB. Everything they did was extraordinary. Our views were simply a magical backdrop to an incredible celebration.”

Vogue Weddings report the bride saying “The most special part of our wedding, which was so unique and fascinating for both us and our guests, was the mix of cultures coming together,” Maia says. “I come from a Māori background, and Max comes from a Jewish family. Both families were so receptive of the other culture, and we were able to incorporate elements from both.”

Drift Bay continue “we are quite teary looking at the photos - and feel a real bond with this couple who have encapsulated all the togetherness and joy we dreamed Drift Bay villa would provide for our own family and for those who stay.”
