Eco-friendly practices are woven into all aspects of your stay. We use sustainable, compostable, or re-usable products products wherever possible, and all cleaning and garden products are NZ-made and friendly to the environment. The land is also partly grazed by sheep.
The Drift Bay gardens supplement locally sourced produce and guests are encouraged to help themselves to the produce during their stay. We actively compost and use biochar, putting as much natural goodness back into the land, as possible.

If you can tear yourself away from the property, enjoy a tour of this special, quiet arm of the lake, by boat. Be collected from Drift Bay’s private jetty and explore our favourite spot, colloquially known as “Little Fiji”. Let our local hosts share the secrets of the region with you. And…if you’re into fishing, they will even share their favourite spots.
